Bio
Cathy Arden is a native New Yorker and is currently living in Manhattan. She stars as Madame Nadia Selemeczy in the feature film, TRAIN TO ZAKOPANE. She also stars in the feature film, OVATION, and co-starred with Michael Imperioli, Frances Fisher, Tanna Frederick and Cory Feldman in the feature film, THE “M” WORD. A veteran of New York theater, Cathy starred as Kate in the long-running show in Los Angeles, SYLVIA, by A.R. Gurney. She also appeared in the long-running LA show, WHY WE HAVE A BODY. In earlier years, Cathy appeared in Peter Bogdanovich’s, MASK, and in shows in New York and regionally. A few of her mentors and teachers have been Brad Garrett, Austin Pendleton, José Ferrer, Stella Adler, and Word Baker.
In addition to acting, Cathy is also a writer, journalist, Life Coach and Certified Grief and Sexual Assault Counselor. Her memoir, MY SISTER’S PICTURE, was published by Simon and Schuster, and her work, including fiction, non-fiction and poetry, has appeared in various magazines and newspapers, including THE WASHINGTON POST, PARIS REVIEW, NEWSDAY SUNDAY MAGAZINE, FICTION INTERNATIONAL, NIMROD JOURNAL, WISCONSIN REVIEW, GLAMOUR, HARPER’S BAZAAR. She has recently completed a novel, THE RED DIRT ROAD, and is currently working on another novel, TOURING THE NILE, as well as a book of poetry, THE LAKES HAVE BEEN COMING DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAINS FOR A LONG TIME.
